Welcome to Harlem Commonwealth Council, Inc. (HCC), not-for-profit 501(c)(3) local development organization dedicated to a broad-based economic uplift of Harlem and its vibrant multi-cultural community. Harlem Commonwealth Council's mission is to stimulate the overall economic development of the Harlem community through the creation of enterprises, generation of jobs, and improvement of services. Since 1967, Harlem Commonwealth Council has held firm to that pledge, serving the Harlem community by implementing any number of successful ventures and programs through the years that promote self-sufficiency amongst its citizenry and create stability in Harlem through economic development projects, academic empowerment, and entrepreneurial support.
Harlem Commonwealth Council has made historically significant contributions to Harlem in many instances without the financial support of governmental agencies or outside entities. It continues to engineer new initiatives that will foster and sustain economic prosperity to Harlem's residents and businesses.

HCC New Ventures Program
Harlem Commonwealth Council, Inc. believes that business entrepreneurs are vital to the economic well-being of any community. The HCC Boardroom and its New Ventures Program was developed to provide guidance and tools to prospective business owners in Harlem. In the New Ventures Program, business entrepreneurs move through the nationally acclaimed FastTrac™ curriculum that has been enhanced by our unique life skills component, which provides business education, technical assistance, and access to business networks over a 16-week course period.
