HCC Adult Education Services

HCC and its partners receive funding from the Workforce Investment Act Title II for Adult Basic Education and Literacy Services Programs. The Education and Career Development programs serve the needs of a diverse multi-cultural community providing critical educational programs to individuals, seeking to enter college or enter the workforce.  These free programs address the diverse needs of the clients that seek improved English language fluency, literacy instruction, and civics (citizenship) activities.

EL Civics: educates our immigrant population to be good citizens by giving them the knowledge of our history, culture, constitution and laws.

ESL (English Second Language): provides instruction to the limited or non-English speaking immigrant seeking to enhance their communication skills in everyday living situations.

Adult Basic Education: reading, writing and mathematical skills are enhanced by intensive classroom instruction. This course is a pre-requisite for further educational advancement such as Pre GED and GED.
